A climber's best friend. Big and deep, it's the kind of hold you can get your fingers securely behind. When using a jug, keep your arms straight to avoid them getting tired too quickly.
A rounded hand hold with no lip or edge of any kind. The secret to slopers is to get as much surface area of the hand on the climbing hold as possible. Slopers work best when your body is below the hold.
A hand hold oriented upside down, which you hold with your palm facing upwards. It can be difficult to get a good grip when you are below these holds but it becomes much easier as you climb higher.
A hold a hole in it. For three finger hand pockets use all fingers apart from your little one (unless you can fir your little finger in too)
The kind of hold that you'll grip by squeezing with fingers and thumb placed on opposing sides. Pinches come in all different sizes and shapes. Some are slopey, some are incut and some are easy like jugs.
Imagine the top of door frame. A crimo is a small hold with a positive edge for your fingers. Crimps require finger stength, which can take a while to gain. When you first start climbing it so good to build finger strength very slowly and gently to avoid injury. Try not to over use crimps.
